John P. Hecht, CPA

John Hecht, CPA, brings more than 30 years of public accounting and private industry experience to his position as Partner at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP. In this role, Mr. Hecht supervises audit, review, and compilation engagements for a broad array of clients in both commercial and not-for-profit enterprises, assisting them with their accounting and tax requirements.

In 1975, Mr. Hecht began his accounting career by joining Paneth, Haber and Zimmerman LLP, a predecessor of today’s Marks Paneth & Shron. After spending six years with the firm, he held the position of CFO for a printing company which gave him invaluable exposure to the day-to-day operations and financial challenges faced by companies within the private sector. He then returned to public accounting where he has spent the last 15 years with Marks Paneth & Shron.

John Hecht holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baruch College of the City University of New York. He is licensed to practice in New York and is a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs. Mr. Hecht is based in Marks Paneth & Shron’s New York City headquarters. He resides in Commack, New York.
