Howard Hoff, CPA, brings more than 20 years of experience in accounting and financial consulting to his position as Partner at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP. In this capacity, he provides a broad range of services to a diverse client base. Mr. Hoff spends the majority of his time working with clients to improve their systems and profitability.

As a specialist in the jewelry and apparel industries, Mr. Hoff offers assistance with acquisition and due diligence matters as well as financial, tax and systems structuring. He also works closely with the firm’s international tax specialists to create efficient foreign tax plans for both foreign companies coming to do business in the United States as well as domestic companies looking to do business overseas. He works with his clients’ personnel to prepare financial projections and financing models, which financial institutions utilize in their approval processes.

Mr. Hoff began his career at Laventhol & Horwath where he spent five years. In the mid-1990s, he moved to Zeitlin Sonet and Hoff CPAs where his efforts as Partner greatly impacted the rapid expansion of that firm’s business. In 1996, that firm combined with Marks Paneth & Shron, where he has continued to build a strong book of business.

He has a history of leading engagements that require financial advisory and consulting expertise. For one such engagement, Mr. Hoff provided projection analysis and deal structuring support as financial adviser for the Unofficial Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Whitehall out-of-court restructuring deal. For this project, he assisted in facilitating a deal between Whitehall, the buyer, associated vendors and the financial institutions involved.

Mr. Hoff is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and both the New York State Society of CPAs and the Iowa Society of CPAs. Additionally, he has served as President for the Contemporary Credit Club. He has authored articles for trade publications including The Secured Lender. In his spare time, he is active in the Rye Brook Youth Soccer Organization and has served as President of the organization.

Mr. Hoff holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Boston University. He is licensed to practice in New York and Iowa. He is based in the New York City headquarters of Marks Paneth & Shron and resides in Rye Brook, New York.
