Eric A. Itzkowitz, CPA, CFP®, JD, is a Director in the Tax Department at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP. Mr. Itzkowitz specializes in providing tax, estate planning and advisory services to high net worth individuals, trusts and estates, and closely held businesses. He also has extensive experience working with partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations and with clients in the real estate industry.

His broad professional career includes extensive public accounting experience. He was a Partner at Zabelle, Shechter & Marks, a small Manhattan CPA firm specializing in real estate, trusts and estates that combined with Marks Shron & Co. (a predecessor firm of today’s Marks Paneth & Shron LLP). Mr. Itzkowitz has also practiced law, and spent three years as an attorney with the law firm of Bergman, Horowitz & Reynolds P.C. (now known as Withers Bergman LLP), in New Haven, Connecticut, where he specialized in tax and trusts and estates law.

Mr. Itzkowitz is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. He is also a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) certificant. Mr. Itzkowitz is also admitted to the New York and Connecticut Bars, as well as to practice before the United States Tax Court. He holds a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the Fordham University School of Law. Mr. Itzkowitz is based at Marks Paneth & Shron’s midtown Manhattan headquarters.
