Arthur Cannata, CPA, is Managing Partner Emeritus of Marks Paneth & Shron LLP. Mr. Cannata has over three decades of experience in the accounting and financial advisory field. His areas of expertise include real estate, retail (particularly within the furniture sector) and high net worth individuals. Mr. Cannata has developed a sub-specialty in asset management for real estate where he is currently responsible for the operation of a large portfolio of commercial properties.

Mr. Cannata has spent nearly his entire career with Marks Paneth & Shron and its predecessor firms. He has held a series of positions that have steadily advanced in their levels of responsibility, beginning with semi-senior accountant and progressing to partner, a status he attained in 1986. Over the years, he has been a prime leader in the firm’s growth through mergers and acquisitions, having been involved in structuring these deals and handling the necessary negotiations.

He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the Florida Institute of CPAs. Mr. Cannata has served on the NYSSCPA Real Estate Accounting Committee and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. He is licensed to practice in New York and Florida.

Arthur Cannata holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University. Based in New York City at Marks Paneth & Shron’s midtown headquarters, he resides in Manhattan and maintains a secondary residence in Boca Raton, Florida.
