Eric A. Marks, MPA, MBA, SPHR, is a Principal of Human Resources Consulting and Business Advisory Services at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP. He provides leadership in strategic human resources and specialized management issues.
Further, Mr. Marks is the Principal-in-Charge of the firm’s Tarrytown office. The Westchester County Business Journal ranks Marks Paneth & Shron as one of the leading professional services firms in Westchester County.
He is a masterful communicator and facilitator with more than 20 years of leadership experience. He has been responsible for developing processes and systems to improve organizational capacity in key business areas such as goal-values alignment, performance management, organizational and individual accountability, leadership, talent development, change management and long-range planning.
Mr. Marks’ coaching advisory and consulting services encompass a broad spectrum of human resource activities, including one-to-one coaching for executives seeking to effectively manage their workforce. He has facilitated workgroups in family-owned, smaller and mid-sized companies to create practical methods of enhancing work-life effectiveness, shared values and strategic visioning. He is often sought out for his advice and counsel on people matters in both strategic business deals and engagements.
Mr. Marks’ management consulting experience includes facilitating and assisting not-for-profit organizations with developing effective human resource practices and processes. Specific engagements have involved OMIG compliant billing practices, HIPAA, corporate compliance, payroll integration and end-to-end workflows of all human resource functions.
As a statewide leader in assisting organizations with their integration of federal, state and other compliance requirements, Mr. Marks has provided numerous seminars for trade organizations, provider groups and clients. His consulting engagements are designed to facilitate his clients understanding of the strengths and risks of their business processes including, but not limited to, integration of executive leadership, business operations, human capital, financial practices, board governance and continuous quality improvement.
Additionally, Mr. Marks offers creative insights in analyzing employee benefit programs, negotiating and selecting insurance, as well as, a variety of professional liability areas.
Mr. Marks is a longstanding member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the American Society of Training and Development, the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Marks is a Board Certified Coach and has earned the Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) credential, which is awarded by SHRM’s Human Resource Certification Institute. He is a candidate for Board Certification by the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Mr. Marks has received two Master’s Degrees, with honors, from Pace University — in Public Administration and in Business Administration. He is a New York State Certified Teacher and an adjunct professor in the Department of Business at Westchester Community College. He divides his time between the firm’s Manhattan and Westchester offices. He resides in White Plains, New York.
