Abe Schlisselfeld, CPA, EA, is a Partner at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP. With more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Schlisselfeld primarily concentrates on serving the real estate industry. He advises his clients on all facets of accounting and tax issues. Mr. Schlisselfeld provides services to commercial and residential real estate clients, real estate management firms and REITs (real estate investment trusts).
A member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), Mr. Schlisselfeld is well-versed in the latest trends and issues affecting the real estate industry. He also has a deep knowledge of multistate taxation. Additional areas of specialty include tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and business-entity structuring. After spending a year at a small local accounting firm, Mr. Schlisselfeld joined Marks Shron & Company, a predecessor of today's firm, in 1996.
Mr. Schlisselfeld is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as well as the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). He is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) where he serves on the Partnerships and LLCs Committee.
Mr. Schlisselfeld holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting from Touro College. He is a CPA who is licensed to practice in New York State, as well as an EA who is licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. He is based in the midtown Manhattan headquarters of Marks Paneth & Shron and resides in Spring Valley, New York.
