Arthur Bloom, CPA, brings more than 35 years of tax planning, advocacy and consulting experience to his position as a Partner at Marks Paneth LLP. In this role, he deals primarily with high-net-worth individuals, assisting them with tax, estate and financial planning.
Mr. Bloom has been with Marks Paneth and its predecessor firm, Paneth, Haber and Zimmerman LLP, since 1980. Previously, he held various tax manager and planning positions with prominent local and regional firms. During his career, he has also had the distinction of serving as an arbitrator for the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board.
Earning a solid reputation among reporters as well as with his clients, Mr. Bloom has participated on WMCA's Ask the Expert Tax Program; appeared on CNBC's Money Talk with Ted David; and most recently served on the Daily News' Tax Panel. Additionally, he has authored articles for the Practical Accountant, The Pulse of Broadcasting, and the CPA Journal.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bloom has been actively involved with the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA). He has been a past Treasurer, Finance Committee Chairman, and Member of the Board of Directors for the organization and has served on numerous technical and executive committees. At present, he is Past President and a current member of The Foundation for Accounting Education, the NYSSCPA's not-for-profit arm which promotes education among CPAs through vehicles such as an outreach program that introduces minority students to the accounting profession. Mr. Bloom is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Bloom is active in his local community, where he serves as Treasurer for the Riverdale YM-YWHA.
Arthur Bloom holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Queens College of the City University of New York and a Master of Business Administration in taxation from Baruch College also of the City University of New York. He is licensed to practice in New York and is based at Marks Paneth's midtown Manhattan headquarters. He resides in Riverdale, New York.
