Mark Levenfus, CPA, is Managing Partner at Marks Paneth LLP. In this capacity, he oversees the firm's operations, manages business development efforts and consults on key accounts. He also plays a major role in developing strategy, setting policy and overseeing acquisitions. Additionally, he serves on the Executive Committee of the firm.
With more than thirty years of experience, Mr. Levenfus has a deep knowledge of general accounting and auditing. His area of specialty is in the media and entertainment industry where he works with a significant number of production companies, studios, advertising agencies, direct marketers, broadcasters, publishers and new media clients.
Additionally, Mr. Levenfus is widely recognized for his expertise in financial services and the assistance he lends to clients in need of hedge fund, fund of fund and private equity management consultative services. He provides guidance on complex tax planning issues and fund structuring.
Mr. Levenfus began his career with Paneth, Haber & Zimmerman LLP. He quickly worked his way up through the ranks of that firm, becoming a Partner in 1983. He maintained a leadership role when Paneth, Haber & Zimmerman evolved, via a merger, into today's firm.
An active participant in trade and professional organizations, Mr. Levenfus is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs. He is also a member of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP).
Over the years, Mr. Levenfus has donated his time and talent to a number of nonprofit organizations. He has served as the President of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and is a current Member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Levenfus is also a Member of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Audit Committee of K.I.D.S. (Kids in Distressed Situations). An avid runner, he is a Member of the Audit Committee of the New York Road Runners Club. In addition, Mr. Levenfus is also involved in Israel Bonds and is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Israel Sci-Tech Schools. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of UJA, Westchester Business and Professional Division.
Mr. Levenfus holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and has completed graduate studies in Accounting at Baruch College also of the City University of New York. He is licensed to practice in New York and is based in Marks Paneth's Manhattan headquarters. He resides in Scarsdale, New York.
