“As the commercial real estate market heats up, larcenies may spike,” says an article in the Commercial Observer.  And although real estate accounting crimes are not the norm, some accountants have noticed an increase, from kickbacks to commingling of funds to related party management fees, says the article which quotes William Jennings, partner-in-charge of the Real Estate Group at Marks Paneth.
