NEW YORK, March 27, 2006 – Stuart Becker, CPA, has joined Marks Paneth & Shron LLP (MP&S), the 36th largest accounting firm in the United States, as a Tax Partner. During his distinguished career in tax planning, tax preparation and tax consulting, Mr. Becker has built a strong practice providing these services to real estate entrepreneurs, family-owned business and their owners, publicly held companies and their senior executives and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Marks Paneth & Shron, Mr. Becker acted as managing partner of his own firm, Becker & Company, LLC, which he founded in 1977. Mr. Becker has extensive experience in tax planning for corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and in devising creative solutions to intricate tax problems. In his role as Partner of the firm, Mr. Becker will be responsible for creating, enhancing and preserving wealth throughout the life cycle of his clients’ businesses as well as assisting high net worth individuals and their families in achieving their financial goals.

Mr. Becker has also been involved with many professional organizations. Over the years, he has been an active member of the Board of Directors on New York University's Stern School of Business, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (on which he currently serves in the Federal Tax Division), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Estate Planning Council of New York City.
Mr. Becker is a frequent author and lecturer on various tax and financial planning topics and is often quoted by the media as a subject matter expert in these areas.
Joining Mr. Becker at MP&S is Alan Blecher, who was the technical director of Becker & Company, LLC. Mr. Blecher has joined the firm as Senior Tax Manager.

Mr. Becker holds both an MBA in Taxation and a BS degree in Accounting from New York University's Stern School of Business and is a gold medal winner on the CPA exam.
He will be based out of Marks Paneth & Shron LLP’s Manhattan office.
