Banks Revisit AML Compliance Amid Push for Stricter Rules

According to an article in Compliance Week, “the government is warning banks to beef up compliance programs to defend against money laundering and related offenses.”  The article, which quotes Sareena M. Sawhney, Director, Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Group at Marks Paneth, goes on to say that this push comes amidst proposed regulations which are shifting toward a more prescriptive approach “that comes with hard-and-fast rules and thresholds.”
