As the hotel market thrives, so also are commercial mortgage-back securities (CMBS) and mezzanine financing which have looser restrictions. Lawrence Cohen was interviewed for an article in Law360 that looks at these funds, as owners seek to refinance their hotels, and the difficulties, albeit worthwhile, which they pose as competition among lenders leads to better terms for borrowers.
