Sharon Sabba Fierstein, Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Partner at Marks Paneth, to Support PCAOB in Protecting the Interests of Investors

New York, NY - (November 3, 2008) - Marks Paneth LLP , the New York-based accounting firm, announced today that Sharon Sabba Fierstein, Partner in the firm's Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Group, has been appointed to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's (PCAOB's) 2009-2010 Standing Advisory Group.

As a member of the PCAOB Standing Advisory Group, Ms. Fierstein will advise the PCAOB on auditing and related professional practice standards for public companies. The advisory group includes 34 highly qualified individuals from across the United States, including professional auditors, public company executives, investors and others.

At Marks Paneth, Ms. Fierstein leads the firm's consulting and litigation services work for mortgage banking (including subprime) clients, conventional lending institutions and regulatory agencies. She also manages the day-to-day operations of the firm's Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Group.

Ms. Fierstein holds a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She is the President of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the Chairman of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Ms. Fierstein resides in Woodbury, New York with her husband and twin daughters.
