Leading New York-area accounting firm Marks Paneth LLP has named Christopher Cacace, CPA, 53, Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Theater, Media and Entertainment Group.

Marks Paneth's Theater, Media and Entertainment Group helps theatrical producers, shows and industry professionals, film and television production studios, radio and television stations, book and magazine publishers, advertising agencies and public relations firms reduce costs and enhance efficiency and internal controls in their core business operations; address tax and HR compliance, regulatory and reporting matters; and meet the challenges that arise from mergers and acquisitions, as well as from doing business on a global scale.

Mr. Cacace has been with Marks Paneth and its predecessor firms since 1982. In a career spanning more than 30 years, he has served First Class and Off-Broadway theatrical production companies performing in New York City, US and international touring companies, and not-for-profit theater companies, as well as producers and other theatrical and media professionals. The international nature of theatrical productions dovetails well with the already considerable international tax group at Marks Paneth.

"Christopher's unique experience and expertise on Broadway and beyond enable our firm to meet and exceed the specialized needs of our theater, entertainment, and media clients. We're delighted that he will be leading this group," said Mark Levenfus, CPA, managing partner at Marks Paneth.

Mr. Cacace graduated magna cum laude and holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Public Accounting from Baruch College of The City University of New York. He is a member of the board of advisers of the MCC Theater Company and a member of the Broadway League, the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs. He is a resident of New Rochelle, NY.
