Scott M. Brenner, CPA, is a Partner in the Commercial Business Group at Marks Paneth LLP. To this role, he brings more than 30 years of experience providing attest and accounting services to manufacturing companies, municipalities and nonprofit organizations. In addition, he has developed a practice assisting privately-held business owners with tax planning and with the use of pensions as tax-savings tools.
Prior to joining Marks Paneth, Mr. Brenner was the Managing Partner of Dylewsky, Goldberg & Brenner, LLC – a Connecticut based, full service accounting, tax and advisory firm that combined with Marks Paneth in 2017.
Mr. Brenner has taught at the collegiate level for nearly 25 years. As an adjunct instructor at Fairfield University, he has developed and taught several courses covering topics ranging from computerized accounting systems, business software applications, nonprofit and governmental accounting and financial accounting. Additionally, he has led courses for Fortune 500 companies and national trade conferences and is currently spearheading a project to teach college students financial literacy. Mr. Brenner recently won a university-wide “Adjunct of the Year” award.
Mr. Brenner was awarded the Committee Chairperson of the Year by the Connecticut State Society of CPAs. He served on his synagogue’s Board of Trustees as President, Treasurer and Board Member at-large. In addition, he served on his children’s overnight summer camp as Treasurer.
