Marks Paneth's Avery E. Neumark Invited to Present at AICPA's Premiere Annual Employee Benefit Plans Conference on May 9

Leading accounting, tax and advisory firm, Marks Paneth LLP, is pleased to announce that Avery E. Neumark, CPA, JD, LL.M., Partner with the firm’s Tax Group, will provide insight into 401(k) distributions, retirement and estate planning at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plans Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, May 9.

In his first session, “Are You Ready for Retirement? Retirement & Estate Planning,” Mr. Neumark will discuss the assessment of retirement readiness and cash flow needs; the evaluation of investments and plan types and their impact on planning; and Roth conversion and estate planning considerations.

His second session, “Distributions A-Z,” will provide an overview of in-service distributions – including loans, hardship distributions and other permissible in-service distributions. Speaking from his more than 35 years’ experience with employee benefits and executive compensation, he will discuss distribution options upon termination of participation; taxation and reporting issues; coordination of pre-tax, after-tax and Roth distributions; rollover options and tax considerations; and beneficiary and estate pre- and post-mortem planning.

Mr. Neumark is a member of the American Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Committee, and is the past chairman of the Fringe Benefits Sub-Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Society of CPAs, and is a member of its Employee Benefits Committee.
