Partner Magdalena M. Czerniawski Appointed Chair of NYSSCPA Exempt Organizations Committee

New York, NY (June 10, 2020)Magdalena M. Czerniawski, CPA, MBA, Partner in the Nonprofit, Government & Healthcare Group at Marks Paneth LLP, has been appointed Chair of the Exempt Organizations Committee of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), effective June 1. She was formerly the Vice Chair of the organization.

Founded in 1897, the NYSSCPA serves as an advocate and resource for Certified Public Accountants by representing and cultivating the profession's core values of integrity, professionalism and ethics. The Exempt Organizations Committee is one of the supporting committees of the Tax Division of the NYSSCPA that, among other things, develops formal educational programs, prepares and reviews articles on technical subjects related to exempt organizations, and reviews proposed legislation, regulations and compliance related to exempt organizations.
