Marks Paneth Adds New Principal To International Tax Practice

New York, NY (June 4, 2019) – Top 100 accounting, tax and advisory firm Marks Paneth LLP, has announced the addition of Julio Jimenez, JD, LL.M., as a Tax Principal in the firm’s International Tax Practice. Mr. Jimenez brings to the firm extensive experience in international tax planning and advisory services for the financial sector, multinational individuals, corporations and family businesses.

Prior to joining Marks Paneth, Mr. Jimenez performed other technical leadership roles at national public accounting firms and led his own international tax advisory practice. He also served as an attorney advisor for the Office of Chief Counsel at the IRS, where he helped to draft significant guidance dealing with dividend withholding, international strategies, financial products, foreign currency and IRS examinations.

Mr. Jimenez specializes in international tax controversy, capital markets structuring and planning, financial products, tax treaty issues, hybrid instruments, foreign tax credits, hedging, treasury and risk management strategies. In his new role, he will also draw from significant experience advising clients on the impact of the new tax law on international tax provisions, including section 163(j), BEAT, FDII and GILTI.
